”Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs
Have you ever had those times where you were confused about the direction you should go in or your best next steps forward?
When I look back on my life, I know that some of the most challenging times were those times when I just didn’t have the answers. I knew something was “off” and needed to change, but I was unsure if what I was doing was going to get me to the “light at the end of the tunnel”.
I can remember exactly how heavy that felt. I was literally questioning everything and my mind would just run endlessly. I was confused and my worries about the future and how things would play out totally overshadowed the day I was experiencing. But, as awful as some of those days felt, they left me with an important takeaway message — which is that as long as you are following your heart and intuition, then you are moving in the right direction and everything will ultimately work out.
It’s Okay to Not Know
Sometimes it’s not about having all the answers and seeing all the turns, curves and the exact path forward; its just about trusting yourself, leaning in the direction of what feels right and focusing on living the day in front of you in the best way you can.
If I had realized this just a little earlier in life, I would have had such an easier time with every single one of those experiences. But, you live and learn– right? And, now that I get it, I am all about applying that truth to my life every single time any uncertainty arises.
The reality is there may be those times where you just don’t have all the answers. It’s at those times that you really are supposed to trust yourself, listen to your intuition and do what feels right to you. It’s also at those times that you are supposed to make sure you aren’t overlooking the day right in front of you because you are so focused on the uncertainty and any worries you may have.
If you are trusting yourself and following your heart, you’ve got to also trust that things will unfold perfectly. And, then you must focus your attention to where it always should be — the day in front of you and living it in the absolute best way you can.
Living the moment in front of you, pouring all your passion and energy into today, experiencing and enjoying the people around you – that’s the way you live today in the best way. If you do that and trust yourself, you will find that light at the end of the tunnel.
The Possibility of Today:
1. Control your thoughts. Choose to overshadow any worries or uncertainty. This is an active process and you’ve got to be very deliberate about managing any worries. Don’t deny they are there. Let them rise to the surface, but then continually remind yourself that everything will work out. Create the good habit of focusing on what you know deep down — everything really will unfold perfectly.
2. It’s all about Today. Shift your attention to today and focus on really living and experiencing it in the best way you can. Move through the day intentionally and thoughtfully. Be very aware of how you are feeling and find your way to being in the best mood. Anytime you notice that you are “off”, choose to do something about it. Spend more time doing things you enjoy or give yourself some “you” time. Don’t let your energy be “off” for too long – choose to do something to elevate it.
3. Continue to ask yourself questions. Patiently wait for any answers or direction you are looking for, but make sure you are taking steps forward today by living it in the best way possible. Always remember that the way you create the future you want, is by living today in the best way you can.

Thanks for the reminder to focus on ‘today’. I woke up feeling overwhelmed by what is going on in my life right now and yet compared to the suffering of others globally and even right here in the US of A, my challenges are trivial. Its all in the perspective. So, I decided to start my day with positive intent and go from there. Thanks for you inspiration. Oh, I have tried to not complain for 40 days – trying to take a page from your book. Uh, that is HARD! But I am working on it.
Hey Angela: Thanks so much for the comment and for dropping by. I love that you started the day with positive intent and went from there. That is soooo the way to go:) Keep up the no-complaint thing too. It gets easier and easier — I know it’s super hard in the beginning. I struggled with that too:)

Chandan: I wish I could just easily give you an answer, but you actually have the answer:) You just need to find your way to it. Take some time and ask yourself questions … what feels right for you deep down? What are you interested in? What can you do for hours and not realize the time has passed. Give yourself some time to find your way to the answer:) It will come.
