7 Life Lessons That Are Important To Know

I think one of the most important things I have finally learned is to pay attention to the lessons that are coming my way every single day.

I totally used to miss them. I always had so much going on and the majority of my attention was focused on what I was doing, but not what I was supposed to be learning.

So, as I am sure you can imagine, I have seen the same lessons come to me over and over again … but, I am finally paying attention.

Better late than never … right?

I’ve realized that when it comes to life, we have to manage through challenges and issues, taste success, understand defeat, BUT most importantly … take notes along the way of the universal truths that can be distilled from such experiences.

Here are 10 really important life lessons that I’ve learned:

7 Important Life Lessons

1.Life always puts in front of you exactly what you need at that precise moment in time. Whether it is good or bad or tastes sweet or sour, life gives you exactly what you need, even if you may prefer to have something else.

2. “The more you give, the more you receive” applies to way more than charitable giving.  It literally applies to everything.  It has been described as the boomerang effect and that term is very fitting because you literally get back everything you put out there.  It doesn’t matter if it is kindness, generosity, love, anger, frustration, etc.  It all comes right back to you.

3. If you really believe that everything happens for a reason there is nothing you will not be able to manage through.

4. If at first you don’t succeed, there is something more going on “behind the scenes” you’re meant to discover about yourself.

5. If you struggle with a situation, but never learn the underlying lesson, it will come back to you again and again until you learn it … even though it may come in a different size box with a different color ribbon.

6. You should either be living your purpose or spending time finding it if you’re unsure what it is.

7.  When we pull back the layers and look under the surface, we will see life lessons that show us who we are and point us in the direction of our own truth.

How to avoid being discouraged: Recognize there is no such thing as a setback

Every experience has shaped you, strengthened you, and set you up to take advantage of the future in a new and improved way.

Have you ever experienced a time when you were making progress at something, moving in the right direction and then WHAM…something undesired happens and you feel that now you are regressing?

You feel like what you desire or want to accomplish is now even farther away.

It’s so easy to classify this as a misstep and a setback. I know I have done that way too many times … until something finally dawned on me.

there is no such thing as a setback

Believe it or not, there is nothing that happens that sets us back.

The problem we really have is that we have characterized something as negative, which really is working for our better good.

What has really surfaced is a situation that is designed to propel us forward and we just need to be able to recognize it for what it is. Something has arisen in order to grab our attention so that we will look at things differently and be better prepared in the future to take a quantum leap in the direction we desire.

Trust me, I so get it that often times that really is so hard to see. I have had my fair share of issues and obstacles and I know they have a way of knocking you off your feet.

That’s why we always have to remind ourselves that there always is a bigger picture and often times our greatest opportunities are disguised in our greatest challenges.

the possibility of today

If you currently feel you are experiencing a setback or if one arises in the future, don’t fall into the common trap and view it as something negative and discouraging.

1. Step back and look at things from another perspective.

2. Understand that in one way or another you are being positioned for the success you asked for and that whatever didn’t go as planned is not a setback. It will not hold you back or prevent you from getting to where you want to be.

3. Realize though that it is a reminder that you may need to analyze your current approach and what you are doing. What do you need to differently? What did you learn?
